Here is an early TIME LOCK from the Consolidated Time Lock Co.  On the dial it has CONSOLIDATED LOCK CO.’s SINGLE LOCK CHRONOMETER.  H. CROSS PATENT Feb. 8th 1876  3403  MADE BY HARVARD CLOCK CO. BOSTON. The case measures about 3 5/8″ by 3″ by 2 5/8″.  The marble was not included in any measurements. The nickle plated case is very ornate, with vining surrounding the window, and on the left side is a sailing ship scene, and on the right is a heart along with more vines.  The top also has ornate vines around the round beveled glass.  The box is mounted on a piece of marble.  There is a piece of felt between the marble and the box, and felt on the bottom of the marble.  When the notched black lever is moved, the wheel travels back and forth and you can hear it tick, so I assume at least that part is working.  The plating is good except for around the keyhole, and on the edge of the front plate on the boat side.  There is a couple of gouges on the boat side, along with circular scuffing in this same area.  I have no key, so I can’t get the front open.  There is lose dirt which can be cleaned out when the door is opened.  The dial looks very nice.  All in all a very nice, probably rare item.
