This is a 1939 LincolnZephyr reproduction titled as a 1939 Special Construction vehicle qualifying for classic car insurance and historical plates. One of 41 cars made making this car as rare as it gets. A great ride with fantastic lines and power. Every stop you make you will be asked what is it and where did you get it? Most say “I’ve never seen one”. It is a professionally handcrafted reproduction by Speedster MotorWorks Inc of Clearwater Florida. Original Zephyrs are few, extremely hard to find and costly to restore. In my neighborhood the car is known, by the younger set, as “The Bat Mobile”. What an opportunity to own a real Classic Car. As you can see in the pictures the car is sleek in design and gives it super road hugging appearance.
The hand crafted body is mounted over a custom made 2 by 3 inch tubular frame. With weight of 3,400 lbs, wheelbase of 125 inches, overall length of 198 inches and coil over suspension(fullyadjustable) make it a great ride. Power is generated from a 2005 GM Fuel injected 5.3 liter 295 horse power Vortex engine. The GM 4L60E electronic shift transmission is hooked to a late model GM posi-traction rear end that provides smooth shifting and racing type traction. American Racing “SaltRacing” rims with Daytona P225/55R16’s tires hold the road. Chrysler’s 300 Rack and Pinionfront end give the steering and feel of a sports car. Four wheel disc brakes provide all the stopping needed.
Black and Gray Leather seats, door panels and dash with woodgrain highlights and black carpets set off the interior design. Gauges are from Classic Gauges. Power windows and A/C add luxury touch.Tunes are provided by a JVC AM/FM Radio and Disc player. The roof is a Gray California style Rag Top covering the chopped windshield and doors.
The exterior is Metalic Black with a custom made flame designed nose cover. Unique suicide doors, custom lighted mirrors, full fender skirts and racing type gas door finish the exterior.
I purchased the vehicle from a person who brought the vehicle on spec and used it for demo proposes to sell other Zephyrs. It consistently wins in car shows with best in show and other awards and is a “Peoples Choice” multiple winner. It is as good as it gets!
