Item: 1967 Dick Tracy Metal Lunchbox and Thermos Ex

    Description and Image By:  dclabrot

I have here a vintage 1967 “Dick Tracy” metal lunchbox with the thermos by the Chicago Tribune and made by “Aladdin Industries in Nashville Tenn.     This box and thermos have been in my collection for about 13 years.       The lunchbox is in excellent condition.    It has a little surface wear on the little girls head and the elbow of the lady with the guitar on the party side of the box.    The other side with Dick Tracy on it has a slightly rough area under the Dick Tracy name and in front of Dick Tracy.   The paint around the sides of the box is smooth to the touch.    On top of the box the paint is smooth except on the white J. Jones area and on the police artist picture area where it appears to have some minor surface rust.   The handle is in perfect condition.   The latch is also in excellent condition.    The inside of the box is very white with some normal scratches and very minor surface rust marks around the inside rim of the lid.     The thermos is also in excellent condition.    There are only a couple minor scratches on it.  The surface is not as smooth as it should be but it was properly waxed after I got it and is still in the same condition now as it was back then.  (There is no yellowing from the wax).   The glass inside is intact and it has it’s original cup.   It also has the original wire thermos holder in it.
