Universal Pictures payment for repainting the car back to primer black…(which the owner declined to do after the FF5 shoot)
    Stuntman jacket from FF4.

This car is the one which was NOT crashed and repaired because with a Charger’s unibody construction, you would be taking your life in your hands if you drove a bent and repaired frame car (a couple of which have been recently sold).

This car will always be equated with the Fast and Furious franchise and will only get more famous and more sexy.

Here is more of the story of how and why this car got rented back to Universal:

About a month before the release of FF4, the director realized he wanted a more clean transition (explanation) as to how Vin Diesel was freed from the police bus.  As it was, the movie just started with Vin in Brazil, so Universal called the owner to see if they could rent the FF4 Charger for a few days to film the opening scene of FF5 where the bus crashes into a Charger….flips over and blows up.  (Don’t worry, the Charger that the bus hit was just a shell).

Anyway, the current owner rented this Hero Charger back to Universal but they wanted to paint it gloss black…..as it was in the final scene of FF4.  That was no problem, they paid to have it repainted back to primer black.  After the shoot, the current owner liked the high gloss paint and decided to keep it.  After all, he could always paint it any way he wanted in the future.

Beside the E-Brake there’s another way to tell this is a Hero car.  The dash gauges are etched with the function of the gauge….right above the gauge.
For example, Oil Pressure, RPM, etc.  This would have only been done on a close up interior shot car.  The crash cars would be shot at a distance and detail didn’t matter.

Because of the E-Brake, chances are you saw a lot of this car in the Mexican desert chase scenes and because of the etching above the gauges, chances are you also saw this car a lot with Vin Diesel actually driving it.

Recently there have been some movie cars sold which only had a few original parts and everything else was made up.  We’ve known cases where somebody got a hood, a door and a rear end…then built himself a car.  Like we’ve said before, first of all those cars are death traps.  Second of all, those cars will not retain or gain any value upon close examination.  Any good mechanic will tell you.

PRIVATE PARTY SALE.  OWNER MUST SELL DUE TO DIVORCE.

REGULARLY SERVICED AND MAINTAINED.  CAR IS EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT.
