Item: 1968 Vintage Airlines (United) Metal Lunchbox

This is a vintage 1968 “AIRLINES” METAL LUNCHBOX. It was manufactured by “The Ohio Art Company”. The box features graphics from several airlines such as National, United, and Lufthansa. There never was a matching thermos made for this box. The manufacturer did include a wire thermos holder inside for people who wanted to add their own generic thermos bottle. That thermos holder is often missing , but this box is complete with the holder. I think this is actually the only one of these now on eBay that is complete with the wire thermos holder.
This lunchbox is in very nice condition and has only light wear. I think if you look at the few others of these that are currently available on eBay you will agree that this is a good bargain. This is a classic 44 year old lunchbox that will display beautifully for you.
In the 2011 pictorial price guide “The Lunchbox Kid” this box is shown on page 26 where it is listed with a value of $200. Here is a complete and nice one for a small fraction of that.
