You are bidding on an authentic official Olympic Torch carried in the Olympic Torch Relay London 2012.
Don’t be fooled by some other listings that are just selling unused torches which people have brought from the Olympic website. They may be the same build but they have no history behind them, this torch was actually used in the relay not just one out of a shop. With the Torch Relay now complete the number of used torches available for purchase are running out so get in quick for what may be one of the last chances to obtain this piece of history.
I purchased this from the official torchbearer to give as a gift but unfortunately I need to try and sell it due to personal reasons.
Day 67 – Kingston Upon Thames (Royal London Borough) – 24nd July 2012.
An amazing sporting souvenir, this is your chance to own a piece of history!
An 800mm high torch, with an inner and outer aluminium alloy skin with 8000 holes symbolising 8,000 runners and 8,000 miles distance, with 3 sides representing the Olympic motto: Faster, Higher, Stronger. It won an official design award as one of the greatest pieces of British design EVER… it is BEAUTIFUL! Comes complete with protective cotton sleeve. For a few minutes in time, this was the only thing in the whole world carrying the Olympic Flame.
