    A single Clydesdale’s Horse from the cover of the Draught Horse Journal sold for an amazing $212,500 at a horse auction. It was hard to get all the information of when the auction took place, but it has been confirmed just difficult to pin point the auction. This author beleives the auction took place sometime in 2011.

    Clydesdale Horses are a breed from draft horses.

    They have been bread since the 1800’s.

    • Clydesdale’s can grow as much as 6 feet tall.
    • They weigh about 1500 to 2,500 pounds depending on the breed.

     

    Clydesdale Famous Leg Hair

    The hair that they have on their legs are actually feathers grown to protect their legs. Today, their mainly known for giving the horse an elegant appearance. The majority of Clydesdale Horses are in the U.S., with a little over 500 new registered horses coming up in the country every year. Typically, most Clydesdale’s cost about $1,500 and up to $2,500 for average horses. Rare and elgant horses can and will sell for more, like the Draft horse that sold for $212,500 last year.
