#1. Three Studies for a Portrait of John Edwards by Francis Bacon Sold for $80,805,000.
Description: Francis Bacon (1909-1992). Three Studies for a Portrait of John Edwards signed, titled, inscribed and dated ‘3 Studies for a Portrait of John Edwards Francis Bacon 1984 left panel’ (on the reverse of the left panel); signed, titled, inscribed and dated ‘3 Studies for a Portrait of John Edwards Francis Bacon 1984 center panel’ (on the reverse of the center panel); signed, titled, inscribed and dated ‘3 Studies for a Portrait of John Edwards Francis Bacon 1984 right panel’ (on the reverse of the right panel) oil on canvas, in three parts each: 78 1/8 x 58¼ in. (198.3 x 148 cm.) Painted in 1984.

 

 

 

#2. Ja – Was? – Bild by Kurt Schwitters Sold for $23,777,791.
Description: Ja – Was? – Bild, signed and dated ‘Kurt Schwitters 1920.’ (lower left); signed, dated and inscribed ‘Kurt Schwitters 1920 Ja, Was? = Bild’ (on the reverse),  oil, paper, corrugated card, cardboard, fabric, wood and nails on board; in the artist’s frame,  43 x 31 1/2 in. Description: Adolf & Adeline Erbslöh, Munich, by whom acquired from The Neue Künstlervereinigung München in March 1911.  Alfred & Thekla Hess, Erfurt (sold under duress due to persecution by the Nazi authorities).  Galerie Nierendorf, Berlin, by 1935.  Galerie Thannhauser, Berlin, by 1935.  Günther Wagner, Pelikan-Werke, Hannover, by whom acquired in the Franz Marc exhibition in the Kestner-Gesellschaft Hannover in 1936.

 

 

 

 

 

 

#4. Pink Diamond Sold for $9.5 Million.
Description: The modified oval-cut fancy vivid pink diamond, weighing approximately 5.50 carats. With report 2155908304 dated 7 February 2014 from the Gemological Institute of America stating that the diamond is fancy vivid pink, natural color, VVS1 clarity, with excellent polish and excellent symmetry.
