    Description:   A monumental copper figure of Avalokiteshvara, Nepal, 13th/14th century. Standing with hips swayed, his right hand extended in varadamudra and his left at his thigh, clad in a diaphanous dhoti and adorned with a pendant sash and the sacred thread, the face serene with bow-shaped mouth, aquiline nose, and downcast eyes flanked by large hoop earrings and surmounted by a foliate tiara, the hair arranged in a tall chignon and topped with a knop. 35 in.     Description:   A RARE CELADON-GLAZED RELIEF-DECORATED ARCHAISTIC VASE
    QIANLONG SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795). The tapering body is carved in low relief under the soft, pale blue-green glaze with a band of archaistic foliate dragons arranged in two registers, and the neck with similarly arranged archaistic birds between the pair of foliate scroll handles below the everted rim. The interior and base are similarly glazed and the mouth rim is white.  8¾ in. (22.2 cm.) high.

    Description:   An important napoleon iii ormolu-mounted mahogany, amaranth, fruitwood parquetry and marquetry meuble a hauteur d’appui  attributed to grohé frères, paris, third quarter 19th century  the breakfront rectangular bleu turquin marble top above a vitruvian scrolled panelled frieze fronted by a drawer mounted with an owl clutching flower-filled cornucopia issuing laurel garlands and wheat sheaves, above a marquetry door depicting minerva and putti emblematic of the arts in a classical architectural vista, above a swagged ox mask, enclosing a citronnier veneered interior fitted with an adjustable shelf, flanked to each concave side with flower-filled lozenge parquetry panels, the front angles with arrow quiver capitals above tapering fluted columns on outscrolled acanthus-cast feet. 48 in. (122 cm.) High; 76.1/2 in. (194.5 cm.) Wide;. 22.3/4 in. (58 cm.) Deep.
