    On July 2011 an 1811 Chateau d’Yquem 200 year old wine bottle sold for $121,000. The average person drinks about 1 oz. of liquids in each drink they consume.  A regular bottle of wine contains about 25 ounces. Essentially, a drink of this wine costs about $4,840.00. The white whine was sold by the Antique Wine Company. The company also broke its old record of selling the most expensive wine when it sold an 1887 Chateau d”Yquem for $100,000.

    The new owner of the 1811 Chateau d’Yquem wine bottle for $121,000. wine is Christian Vanneque. He is the former head Somelier at the Michelin La Tour d’Argent restaurant in Paris.

    Cheateau d”Yquem are some of the most recognized and expensive white wine bottles in the market. The 1811 wines have a special attraction for wine enthusiast as they have a sweet taste and are considered to be excellent wines.

    The new owner indicated he had no idea that was the most expensive wine when he purchased it as he thought there was a higher record price paid for a white wine. However, he did indicate he knew it was the most expensive wine he had personally ever purchased himself.

    The new owner said he will open the wine in six years to mark his 50th anniversary of when he began working in Paris. He plans to share the whine with his wife, brothers and friends.

    When the new owner shares his bottle of wine with his friends and family, it will also undoubtedly be one of the most expensive drinks that any individuals have ever drank!
