Item: Vintage 1959 Central Station Metal Fireman Firehouse Lunchbox W/Thermos

For your consideration is a Vintage “Thermos” Brand “Central Station” Metal Lunchbox with Matching Thermos! The lunchbox measures about 9″ wide x 4.5″ deep (at the center) and stands about 6.5″ tall at the center…not including the handle. The thermos measures about 3.25″ in diameter at the base, stands about 8.25″ tall and is marked on the side “© The American Thermos Products Co., 1959…see picture(s). A rare find!
The set is LOADED with fine details that our camera can’t possibly fully capture! Any white spots are just reflections from our camera flash!
The set is in at least average, as-found used condition. The lunchbox shows the typical scuffs/scrapes etc. overall (inside and out) from use and mostly on the bottom. The box is cleaner than you normally see for one of this age and belonging to a child! There are a few bumps/bruises…mostly confined to the top (roof) section and some surface oxidation to the metal clasps at either end of the handle and locking clips as shown.
The thermos is in great used condition complete with the cup and cap as shown. It shows the typical scuffs/scrapes etc. from use but is much cleaner than you normally see! The thermos does not “rattle” when shaken. The base shows some discoloration/spotting/staining whatever to the metal but no rust.
