A very rare antique “three color” fada catalin radio, circa 1939. The case is solid yellow, the handle and both knobs solid red, the wraparound grill marbled olive. The dial has fine graphics and pointer [and pointer turns with knob action.] The other knob turns on and off. The catalin case, handle, and knobs, are all without chips, nicks, or cracks. The top of the case has reddish discoloration spot from the heat of the interior bulb. Only missing the plastic bubble over the dial, and the cardboard backing plate. Fine gilt “fada” decal on front. Paper labels to underside identify this as: series 202. Includes the original cord and plug. [we have not plugged in the radio for reception.] Case measures 5-1/2″ tall by 9″ wide by 5-1/2″ deep. Excellent condition: normal color aging to the catalin, which can be restored. A wonderful addition for the advanced collecton. This patriotic model circa 1939 is very rare and would clean to a red white and blue color combination, which is possibly one of a king! We have never seen this radio in this 3 color combination in 30 years. Nothing in sideli’s book or in our research to indicate that there are any other red white and blue color combinations in the configuration. 100% fresh to the market and possibly a prototype for the 1939 new york worlds fair. Red white and blue pure americana. A jewel of a find i dont think they come any RARER THAN THIS.
