On September 11, 2012 a DB Cooper Historic Currency Sold for $4,000.00 on eBay
The Seller zoompast01 described the item as: “For auction is a $ 20 bill 1969 series. (serial # L 12650395 A) . This bill was part of the ransom money involved in “D B. Cooper”‘s famous hijacking of a Boeing 727 aircraft on Thanksgiving eve,1971. The bill shows written initials on the face, during inspection during its investigation many years ago. The bill is encapsulated in Mylar,and comes with a certificate of authenticity by PCGS , which includes their own coding number that is recorded. I had acquired this bill which became part of my collection ,which i’m giving the opportunity for someone to add to their private nostalgic collection. Bill can become an heirloom representing a very historical event . Numerous movies ,books written and conspiracy theories have evolved over the years, making any of these bills highly sought after”
