    The television set and broadcasting was not available in America until the late 1920’s. In 1927 one of the first television sets was invented by Philo Taylor Farnsworth.

    Later RCA the parent of NBC funded the experiment of television and broadcasting. Their television sets were being sold around the country and they managed to televise some historical live broadcasts like President Nixon’s national address. Between 1928 to the early 1930’s very few households owned a t.v. It wasn’t until the mid 1940’s that the television became more affordable and regular programming was now made available through many areas in the country.
