1861 Civil War ID disc Inscribed/stamped on reverse to: J.G.LOVE. / PIONEER. / Co.E. / 5th REG. N.H.V. / GILLMANTON. Original 28mm diameter medal obverse has an eagle surrounded by “WAR OF 1861 / UNITED STATES”. Item is in very good condition showing only modest wear. See my other items for additional scarce medals from the 19th and 20th Centuries This authentic medal, along with all other items I have offered up for bidding this week, are from the estate of a long time collector of orders and decorations (who was also an accomplished numismatist) and have not been available to the wider community for many decades. Items are presented “as found” with no additional embellishment.
