This auction is for a pair of antique silver plate very elaborate hallmarked candelabras, hallmark is as follows; standard: lion ~ city: london ~ date letter: “p” 1810 – 1830 ~ duty: head ~ maker: wp & tr, william potter/plummer? – every piece has a hallmark or mark, the base has tr and the other pieces have wp and an s date mark. The arms, strangly enough are not hallmarked but, are engraved with william earl nelson june 1813 and i did find something on a person of this name that might apply (see link below) – as with most candelabras they can be singular sticks or arms added for a more formal effect – they are 18″ tall and 15″ across (arm to arm) they have a couple af areas that are polished down to the copper/brass but are not really in need a replating at this time. I believe these to be old but do not have any provonance proving anything other than my discription and the current owners word that they were purchased 50+ years ago in an antique store in marin county, california. They are in very good condition and superbly crafted and ornate.
