I don’t like to use the term RARE, but……..
I acquired this in the early 90’s and have kept it boxed until now. I need to pay for a barn, so some of my collection needs to go to new homes. I offered this sign on eBay in August of 2009, and the Buyer didn’t pay for it (From California), so it went back on my wall.
There have been two of these surface since. Both were in similar condition. One sold in Jim Daniels auction this spring for $4500.00 plus premium. One was offered on ebay, and didn’t sell. (May have been the same sign)

This one is offered with NO reserve this time and we’ll see what happens. I reserve the right to end the auction early as this is offered locally as well.

Sign measures 84″ overall and 17 1/2″ tall. This was made in three sections. The two “wings” with the cars fasten with wing nuts (The original nuts are present). The entire sign is Masonite, and the two cars are metal. Both cars are 100% original. One car has the original tabs to fasten it to the sign, one car has had the tabs reattached. The cars were re painted some time ago. The paint jobs could have been better but the colors match the sign. All colors are nice and bright except for the green in “Go Refreshed” which has faded down a little. This is only obvious because the paint on the original wing nut did not fade and is darker. No real problem, though, as the colors all look great regardless. Very minor scratches are here and there which do not detract. The raised lettering is a little worn, with a chip here and there. The top part of the small c in Coca is missing.

All of this is easy to see in the photos. It also appears that the first large C has been re attached. This is only noticeable upon very very close scrutiny. Cannot tell this at all from 12″ away. The white letters appear much worse on these photos than they do in person. They can be touched up to your liking once it is yours. I note all of these details because this is an important sign.

All three sections have the original Kay Displays stamp on the back. Wing nuts also on the cop and his hand to dismantle further, but these have not been turned in years. There are a few tiny tacks with wire attached where the sign was hung originally.
This is a very beautiful and important sign for any advanced collection. If It doesn’t sell in this economy, It’ll go back in my archives
A nice addition to your Coca Cola collection. I will pack this very well.
