Offered for the first and only time on eBay – a 1930s Mickey and Minnie Mouse Play land Wind up Toy with the original box. Measures about 10 inches wide by 10.5 inches tall. Original box measures around 11 x 6 x 2 inches. Set up like a Circus Trapeze with a tin / metal frame, and a tin litho candy cane tube that the celluloid Mickey and Minnie Mouse figures perform on. The top of the frame has a die cut cardboard tent canopy. On both sides of the cardboard canopy reads “Mickey and Minnie Mouse Play land – Copyright Walt Disney Enterprises Ltd – Distributors: Geo. Borgfeldt Corporation, New York .” Also has the ‘CK Trademark Made in Japan’ logo on one side of the canopy and on the cover of the box. The box has a beautiful image of the toy, along with a checkered globe design that reads “my friend” in the center of the globe.
Mickey and Minnie are both made of celluloid and balance above a celluloid ball on the candy cane tube. Mickey Mouse holds a bell and Minnie holds a metal ring. Minnie has the original paper label on the celluloid ball, which reads “Copyright Walt Disney Enterprises Ltd Japan.” Both figures have “Made in Japan” imprinted on the celluloid balls they stand on. When wound, the tube swings back and forth as Mickey and Minnie spin above.
