This is a hard-to-find and rare salesman sample for the 1939 line of “Coca Cola” or “Coke” coolers from a Detroit area sales rep’s estate who worked out of the Warren Ave plant in Detroit. This was made by Kay Displays Inc. and has its original paint, gaskets and booklets. It measures 12 1/4″ by 10″, is 7 1/2″ deep and has the bottle opener with cap catcher attached. Inside is galvanized with rubber gaskets that are soft and flexible though one is not fully attached. There is a double-hinged lid and on the inside of each are the original product brochures. One is called “A Business Builder”, 6 pages and other is “1939 Coolers for Coca-Cola”, 7 pages. There are a few scratches and nicks but mostly on the lid (see photos). A wonderful item for the advanced collector.
