The Alvarez Yairi DY99 Virtuoso Custom Modulus Tree of Life model was only made one year in 1992. Select solid Spruce top, body is book matched Jacaranda (African). Modulus Graphite neck, Rosewood fb w/Abalone inlays, Ebony bridge. MSRP $2,400 1992
This very rare guitar is used but in pristine condition with case. It has been professionally re-strung and the sound is spectacular. It was purchased from the estate sale of very wealthy guitar collector. Further research of this particular model guitar show ties to Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead as according to reps from Modulus (makers of the graphite neck) “most all that were made passed through Jerry’s hands”
This is a beautiful guitar with a very interesting background that has yet to be fully researched and certified but looks exact to the one Jerry Garcia was playing or promoting as seen online and very few are known to still be in existence. Other Jerry Garcia guitars have sold for close to $1 million dollars.
The economy has forced me to put this incredible guitar for sale. Returns would be allowed if picked up in person and the guitar does not match pictures and description.
Provided by Wikipedia.com: “As with most things Garcia, with his passing, the DY99 model is rendered legend and valuable among collectors.”
