Description of the auction as follows – Sensational piece of glass sculpture based on the epic tale of Moby Dick, designed by Donald Pollard and Sidney Waug. This monumental piece was produced in a very limited edition. This piece has exquisite details and combinations of textures; frosted glass, high polished and clear that create an amazing visual depth. The tension of the struggle of Captain Ahab and the huge white whale come alive in this magnificent piece. Great piece of art glass to add to your collection. Marked on the bottom: Steuben, and a sticker on the underside that reads: Lausitzer Glas, Lead Crystal 24% lead oxide, hand cut, made in German Democratic Republic.
Condition:
Very good condition with no cracks or scratches, there is a miniscule fleabite chip on the edge of the base as shown in pictures #4, 5. The bottom has felt non-scratch pads.
