Rare original 1966 first state stereo butcher cover version of the beatles classic, “yesterday and today” album cover! This example retains it’s original shrinkwrap.
Here it is!! The number one collectible album of all time by any artist anywhere!… Indeed, this is the ultimate record collectible. A true first state “stereo” issue of the beatles classic first issue “butcher cover” version of the album, ‘yesterday and today’ (capitol st-2553). (the term “first state” refers to the fact that this cover never had the replacement ‘trunk cover” pasted over it.) This example was manufactured at the scranton, pa factory! Back of cover has the #2 and it is the more fragile version and extremely difficult to find clean. They used thinner flats and thinner paper to make these. They are lighter than the west coast examples. As such, this example is way above the condition i normally see. It is a very nice vg+++ and it still retains the original shrinkwrap. Some wear at 3 of the corner tips, and some proper aging towards the mouth visible on the back. Very small nick out of front slick at lower right edge, but tiny. Check the pictures. What can i say folks, “and now, here it is……”the covted first state stereo butcher!”. No record included. I will include a copy of the recall letter issued by capitol asking for the albums return back in 1966 due to it’s controversial nature! **this record will come with my letter of authenticity.
