Recently, I ran across a large collection of vintage tin signs. They cover a wide range of subjects and vary in size from small to very large. I will be listing some of these on line over the next few weeks. This is an area of collecting that I am not very familiar with so, ask questions if I have omitted something or correct me if I am wrong.
This sign measures 27 1/2″ wide X 19 1/2″ high and is single sided. It was manufactured by the “Chas. W. Shonk Co.” located in Chicago. Unfortunately, the rust in the corner is obscuring the dating information but, I would guess it is from the 50’s. I have only wiped down the sign with a damp cloth. I think the colors will be much brighter with a good cleaning. As I said, these tin signs are not in my area of expertise and I would rather let the new owner clean them as they see fit.
