Up for auction is a French Bru Jne bisque doll from the 1880s-1890s. The head is in great condition, hair is matted, but no chips, cracks, or damage; stationary eyes. Body is in rough shape. Several tears in the body leather covering at the joints and a sawdust-like material spils out. Some previous repairs by past owner made of masking tape. Doll needs restoration but is fixable to someone with patience and skill. Some additional damage to the body in the way of staining and small tears in the leather. Back of doll head is marked “BRU JNE”, see photo #4 (note that color and contrast were altered to make the mark more visible on a digital image) A non-corrected photo of the back is also included and is more accurate of the real doll color. Doll measures 24 inches in length and is in a semi-sitting position and does not move freely without causing further damage. This is not a reproduction doll and guaranteed to be original.
