1953 Louisiana Purchase Sesquicentennial Medal
Here we have HK-509 struck by the Adams Company celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Louisiana Purchase. This fiery red gem So-Called Dollar was struck in copper, and measures 41mm. The issue was limited to 5,000 pieces and came struck in copper, brass, silver-plated, and bronze. Of the silver-plated, brass, and bronze pieces, less than twenty of each are known to exist today. This present copper example is in gem original condition, with clean, spotless surfaces, and would be a hard one to improve on.
