Item: Pendleton Round-Up Rodeo So Called Dollar Silver Plate Antiqued HK-567
Description and image by: bamboo1
There were only 7010 pieces struck of this scarce item. The “bucking horse” design is from an original drawing (1924) by the late western artist Wallace Smith, author and writer of western scenes. It was struck for the famous Pendleton Roundup, which I believe is still held each each year, an annual event. The mountain in the back ground is Mt. Hood. It was also issued in connection with the 100th anniversary of Oregon Statehood 1859-1959.
