Found rolled up in the rafters of an attic in a small town in Western New York State that claims to be the birthplace of the Republican party. Outside edge of frame to outside edge measures 66 inches by 40 1/4 inches. It is made of a canvas type of material, and is handpainted. It has lot of wrinkles in it. The backing is black. This screams old! What a unique piece! With the beard of course, this would represent the 1864 campaign. At that time, money was scarce for posters, banners, pins, ribbons, and broadsides, so supporters hand made their signs. This may indeed be a one-of-a-kind! Or at least a sole-survivor. I’d be willing to drive it part way, for the cost of gas, to deliver it….. but the distance has to be reasonable, so CHECK WITH ME FIRST if this is an option you want to consider. Crating and shipping this would be quite expensive so I’ve listed it as a local pick-up only. Frame is just a touch too wide for the gilt part to cover over the staples that have been used to hold the canvas edge down on the left and right sides. What a piece folks!
