Original work from snow white and the seven dwarfs  copyright 1937  walt disney enterprises” snow white in rags with 2 birds painted celluloid

This is a really great piece.  I think it is in the top 5 items i have handled over the last 10 years.  And that is saying something.  The description from the original label reads: “this is an original painting on celluloid from the walt disney studios, actually used in the filming of “snow white and the seven dwarfs”  only a very limited number have been selected to be placed on the market. — walt disney”.  The real deal!!!  One of the finest pieces one could own in the disney collectible world.  In all the research i have done, this is the only one i have found of snow white in her rags outfit.  A stunning full body profile face view as she peers out past the curtain at the 2 birds on the ledge.  A stunning scene.

A wonderful large piece measuring 11 x 7 inches.  One of the largest sizes you will find with snow white measuring nearly 8 inches tall.  This is a two layer celluloid.  Snow white is painted on the top layer.  Nearly perfect condition.  There looks to be a very faint and slight mark on her left shoulder.  I wouldnt touch it but i am sure a proper restorer could clean it up in less than 5 minutes.  The second celluloid has the birds and the curtain painted on it.  Those basically look perfect.  The 2 celluloids are on top of the original background paper board that has the ledge for the birds painted on it.  It shows some discoloration and some minor spotting but nothing that detracts.  The celluloids are cut to the edge of the backing as it was created.  There is some waviness of the celluloids as is to be expected with these pieces but nothing too bad.  I believe this a piece done by courvoisier but cannot confirm.  It is of the highest quality.  On the back are 2 of the original labels.  It has been archivally taped into a matte.  I also have the original labels from the original frame that is the other original disney label as well as one from the tilden thurber art galleries in providence, rhode island.
