This is for a lovely antique Georgian spyglass from the very early 1800s. It has the makers name Webb of London engraved on the inner draw and there are six draws to extend and focus. I believe the maker to be John Webb from 192 Tottenham Court Road who was an instrument maker from the dates of 1760-1846. Its frame is beautifully gilded and the main body is cased in a naturally occurring material used on many high end optical pieces at this time! It is in absolute excellent condition with no damage or wear to it anywhere…its as good as you find them. There are no dings or dents to the body, no loss or wear to the lovely gilding, no holes, splits, chips or cracks to the body, both lenses are perfectly crisp and clear and there are no repairs or restorations anywhere on the piece…its preserved beautifully and exactly as you would want to find it. It measures 100mm (4″) long when extended and 35mm (1.3″) when closed and the diameter of the body is 45mm (1.3″). Please check out all the other scientific and optical instruments, antique smoking and writing implements, art deco and art nouveau items and all the other vintage ladies and gentlemans accessories
