Item: Vintage 1959 “Central Station” Dome Lunch Box

Up for auction is this classic 50’s theme dome type lunch box. Traffic and fire safety for kids is the theme on this box with safety scenes depicted on the exterior and safety instructions on the bottom. The box has seen considerable use and the condition shows it. While there are numerous scratches and a large dent on the exterior of the box, it is still a good example of life in the 1950’s. The colors are bright and all parts of the box function as designed. There is no thermos. Most of the writing on the bottom has worn off. The interior of the box is quite clean and undamaged with some scratches caused by the thermos. There is very little evidence of rust. The box measures approx. 8.75” x 6.25” x 4.50”.
While we would have preferred that this classic lunch box to be in more perfect condition, it would still make a nice addition to any collection.
