Nice WW2 Japanese Naval binoculars. Marked Yashima, Tokoyo, No. 244 on the rear of the left barrel & 15X80 mm, 4*(degrees) on the rear of the right barrel. Overall length is 16″ & they weigh almost 15#. Lens measure 3&3/4″ outside diameter & 3&1/8″ on the inside. I think these are in very nice used condition with a few nicks & scrapes. Lens are very clear, no cloudiness whatsoever, no scratches, no issues. There are no mounting brackets & as you can see in my photos that 2 screw holes on each side of the mounting areas have been slightly buggered by someone in the past. I do have the original 2 screws for each side & the original pin that held the brackets on, there are no brackets. I can also see several very minute’ screws missing around the forward barrel band that do not appear to be an issue. Rudimentary “rifle” sights down the center. adjustments all over, all in great condition. Binoculars are very well marked & in very serviceable condition. I am selling these for a WW2 veteran who got them from the estate of his best friend when he passed away. His best friend “acquired” them from a Japanese aircraft carrier during WW2. I have seen these in mediocre condition sell for between $5,000 to $9,000, but I am starting the listing at $9.99, like I do all of my listings. I will ship these FedEx Ground, they will be well cushioned & double boxed. International shipping will be at actual cost & at the buyers discretion. Any questions please ask. Thank you!     * Please note that the owner of these binoculars just called & he has found the gimbels. I will get a photo of them on the listing on Saturday.

Please note that I am making 2 additions to this listing. One – The elderly veteran that these binoculars belong to had found the original gimbels last night. I don’t want to be responsible for the binoculars so I am leaving them at his house for safekeeping & I went over to his house & photographed the gimbels. I only had room for one more photo on the listing so I am only showing one gimbel. The two gimbels ARE NOT identical, the one shown has 3 tiers & the other has 2, quite unusual. The gentleman assures me that they are original to the piece. Two – I had a request from a ebay buyer in the UK to check the optics. I already had (I thought) & told him that they were excellent, as I have listed. While I was photographing the gimbels this afternoon I held the binoculars to the sky & looked down the “front end” to double check. The left barrel (held in normal position) is excellent, the right barrel has 3 small chips noticeable (2 are extremely small), somewhere on the inside. When viewed through the correct end these chips are completely unnoticeable, the field of vision is bright & clear. I apologize that I had not noticed this before the original listing. As I say, the chips in no way affect the optics. I pride myself in describing my items to the last degree & I want my buyers to be extremely satisfied. Any questions please ask.
