WWII Japanese Naval 20 X 120 (20X3 Degree) Big Eye Binoculars by Eastman Kodak WW2 Japanese Large 20 X 3 Degrees Deck Binocular for a Warship Binoculars

The fella’ I bought these from says that he got them from a Japanese Battleship that they (his platoon) had captured in World War Two during the 1940’s. I don’t know much about it beyond that, but I will describe the piece as well as I can. The eyepieces (the smaller end of the optics) are still in good operational condition, but do have some minor chips around the edges.  The chips don’t affect their usability.  There would original have been some sort of additional pieces to cushion your face against (leather, rubber or something) that are no longer there.  There is some wear to the finish, but it is the original finish.  They have not been reconditioned in any way.  I have the original lense caps and they have done a great job of protecting the huge 5″ lenses at the business end.  There is a small crack in the exterior of one of the lens cases which someone has taped together.  It seems it was enough of a crack to allow a few dust particales in that side though, since there is some spots on the backside of that lense.  This has the original mount still attached, which seems to be pretty rare.  These monsters are huge and heavy. and they’re a little under 21 inches in length and about a foot wide. Both optics focus appropriately.

I’ve seen a few of these sell, so I have an idea of what to expect.  I did not offer a buy it now, but if you would like to make an offer, just message me.  It will have to be a fair number though, so please be reasonable. This item is also for sale locally.  I will not cancel the sale in the last 24 hours, but up until then, it may sell it locally and the listing could get canceled. In other words….don’t wait until the last minute to bid or you may be risking the listing being pulled.
