#1. A Marble Statue of Aphrodite, early 1st Century A.D Sold for $16,073,811.
Description: After a Greek original of circa 430-420 B.C., the goddess standing in a majestic and graceful attitude, and wearing high-soled sandals, long diaphanous chiton leaving her right shoulder bare, and long cloak falling from her left shoulder in deeply pleated folds, her oval face with parted lips and large wide-set eyes, the wavy hair parted in the center, bound in a broad braided diadem, and flowing in a long tapering tress down the nape of neck; restored in marble: part of proper right earlobe, tip of nose, both forearms with attributes, small parts of drapery, and other minor areas  203.2cm., 80in. high.

 

 

#2. Liverpool 1724 – 1806 London  ‘Tygers At Play’ Sold for $13,194,459.
Description: Presumably commissioned or purchased by George Brodrick, 4th Viscount Midleton (1754–1836); Thence by descent to his son George Alan Brodrick, 5th Viscount Midleton (1806–1848).

#4. Documented 1292  by Giovanni Da Rimini Sold for $9,739,237.
Description: Documented 1292 – 1309/14. Left wing of a diptych with episodes from the lives of the virgin and other saints: the apotheosis of augustine; the coronation of the virgin; catherine disputing with the philosophers; francis receiving the stigmata; and john the baptist in the wilderness. Tempera on panel, gold ground, in an engaged frame  52.5 by 34.3 cm.; 20 5/8  by 13 1/2  in.
