Tonight I am listing another small group of old original mechanical banks.This is a nice original black americana toy bank.It is called the Bad Accident mechanical bank. Made by J & E Stevens cir.1888.To operate this one you place a coin under the mans feet.Slide the lever next to the bush and the boy jumps out .This causes the mule to rear up and the cart fly s backwards.Great action for such an early toy.The top of the bank is cast ” BAD ACCIDENT “.There is the round patented coin door under the cart to remove the coins.It is stamped PATD FEB 2 1875.The bank has nice original paint and there is no damage to any of the cast iron.It is also in very fine working condition.The size is aprox. 6 1/2 ” tall x 10 ” long x 3 1/2 ” wide.
