On January 12, 2013 a Collectible 1910s Fernand Martin “The Autopatte” Black Toy Sold for $6,600 on eBay

The Seller huntison42 described the item as: “Collectible is a very nice antique toy made by Fernand Martin in 1910 called “L’Autopatte”. This toy represents a youg black boy pushing/ pulling a cart full of oranges. This toy carries the F.M. trademark on the back of the orange cart and can also be found on page 146 of the book by Frederic Marchand called “The History of Martin Toys” (see the last photo in this listing for a picture of the page in the book). This toy is in excellent original condition and works well when wound. It has a small spot of rust near the piece that joins the orange car to the front cart (see pictures) which is not unusual on this toy”

Definitely a very nice Toy that brought a lot of attention and a great price that we decided to post it as one of our Collectibles Sold Highlights.
