Description by seller: “Very large and impressive scholar’s horse carved in recumbent pose with one leg poised as if to stand up. Face has very nice features, eyes are round and bulbous so they protrude slightly. Eye sockets raised outwards to widen the head and develop ridges in the face, he has a smiling expression. Head is turned back and mane is neatly parted to each side with fine striations to show hair. The jowl is pronounced and curves to center his body. Hoofs are recessed nicely to underside and tufts of hair are carved to each side”.
