Description by seller: “Star/director Orson Welles’s dramatic tale of the life of newspaper magnate Charles Foster Kane has been called the greatest movie ever made, and who are we to dispute that grand distinction? Although Welles denied it, the film was widely seen as a dramatization of the life of William Randolph Hearst, which greatly angered the real-life media tycoon. In fact, Hearst was so incensed by what he saw as a personal attack that he forbade the movie to be advertised in his papers, and actually tried to buy the negative from the studio so that he could destroy it”.
