On December 30, 2012 a Collectible 1959 Gibson Guitar Es-345 Factory Stop Sold for $15,000 on eBay.
The Seller cthunder! described the item as: “Collectible a Very Very Rare example with a factory stop tailpiece & an original black varitone plate. Original brown Gibson case included. The ’59 neck this guitar has is the neck by which all others compared to, “perfection.” Excellent Fret job, guitar plays wonderfully. Factory original PAFs & pots Purchased in the late ’90s from Southworth. The guitar was mint at that time and is just now beginning to lacquer check lightly. I have carefully played it since the 90’s”.
Definitely a very nice Guitar that brought a lot of attention and a great price.
