On December 22, 2012 a 1963/64 Pre-CBS Electric Guitar Sold for $13,600.00 on eBay

The Seller mikew2255 described the item as: “Here is an amazing guitar in one of the rarest pre-CBS colors on the planet: Sonic blue over sunburst. All hardware, plastic (pickguard, pickup covers, knobs, trem cover, even the switch tip!) and all hardware down to the screws are original and it includes the original case, trem bar and correct vintage strap. The pots date 1963 and the neck is dated Feb 1964 – it’s a B neck and is a very nice neck indeed! Excellent for blues this one is! This guitar has the most incredible flame maple neck I have ever seen. It is a superior neck, much more than the ’55 strat neck that I’ve had and can be played for hours due to its’ comfort and shape. The wood tells an amazing story and is just outstanding, never seen anything like it – you can see in picture #10, the neck has amazing knots in it, it’s like artwork. There’s a nice amount of finish checking throughout the headstock and the Fender logo decal is the original and in minty condition – many times this little decal is replaced or missing parts of it which make the overall appearance of the guitar not as ideal”

Definitely a very nice Guitar that brought a lot of attention and a great price.
