On November 29, 2012 a Collectible Civil War Panel Plate Sold for $8,477.80 on eBay

The Seller wwolst12 described the item as: “Collectible after some searching on the net I could only find one other example like this mid-19th century Brass Buckle we are listing tonight and it was a “dug” example. Depicting a Pelican feeding its young this authentic Panel Plate is from the Louisiana Militia. Across the top is the motto, “We Defend Our Rights” and at the bottom is reads, “N.O.” You can see in the close-up photographs that this buckle is in original untouched condition. There is some shine on the high points, but that’s it”

Definitely a very nice Panel Plate that brought a lot of attention and a great price that we decided to post it as one of our Collectibles Sold Highlights.
