    Description by seller: “The Return of Sherlock Holmes” by J.E. Harold Terry and Arthur Rose, based on the later Sherlock Holmes stories, played for a short time at the Princes Theatre in London before going on a provincial tour. Eille Norwood, who had played the detective 47 times on screen previously, took the title role on stage. On sale here is a rare postcard produced to advertise the play when it appeared at the Borough Theatre in Stratford (East London), during the week of June 2nd 1924. It measures about 3.5” x 5.5” and shows Norwood as Holmes on the front”.

The majority are pre 1940, possibly some a little later but all are guaranteed 100% vintage original postcards. Condition is mixed but most are very good through to excellent. The album is in lovely condition, just the odd broken strut“.
