    Description by seller: “Is an unusual oval-shaped tray with overlay simulating a napkin.  Item was authenticated and appraised at $2,750 by Dorset Gallery in New York in 1992.  Based on the quality of hallmark and wear to the item, it appears to be a genuine article; however, we are not able to make an absolute comment with regards to authenticity.  Beautiful and intricate old-world craftsmanship”.

    Description by seller: “Antique 18th Century Georgian Solid Silver extremely large Salver tray on three claw-on-ball feet with an applied beaded border, the surface is beautifully hand engraved with floral scrolls, the center features a family crest and memorial incription “Presented to John Brend Winterbotham, Esq., by John Searle, 1873”. Hallmarked English Silver (925 standard), London, year 1774 (T), Maker’s mark I.C (it could be John Cormick, John Chapman II or Joan Cox, as the three silversmiths were operating in the same period with almost identical marks). The base has the scratched weight “63. 12” Ounces“.

Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard), London, year 1846 (L), Maker’s mark EEJWB (Edward, Edward Jr, John & William Barnard, great silversmiths)“.
