Splendid World Map in two hemispheres “Nova Orbis Tabula, in Lucem Edita, A.F. de Wit.” Cartographer: Frederic De Wit (*1630; †1706) was on of the most important publisher of atlasses and maps of its time Description: We offer a decorative and coloured copper engraving map by Frederik De Wit. This map shows the world in two hemispheres with America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia (Hollandia Nova). The map is richly decorated with very beautiful illustrations. Some marginal details in Gold! Size: Leaf app.: 59,5 x 50,0 cm Map app.: 55,5 x 46,5 cm Condition: • in good condition • strong print and nice colour • slightly brownish and stained • restored back side- center fold, smaller margin and edges restored and added with paper • slightly creased
