This sale is for, thomas gray, an elegy wrote in a country church yard, first edition london printed for r.Dodsley in pall mall; and sold by m.Cooper in pater-noster row 1751, eleven printed pages, first edition first printing with line 4 page 10 reading hidden spirit later corrected to kindred spirit,thomas gray asked for the poem to be published anonymously ,the advertisment reads the following poem came into my hands by accident, woodcut mourning to title page and the beginning of the poem,a very good clean copy one of the most famous english poems,in original condition as it was sold,rare copy only two copies are known for sale on a top book site.
