In 2012 the United States is currently one of the largest if not the largest user of the internet.

China also has a lot of internet users compared most other countries. In 2012 it is not known exactly whether the U.S. or China are in first place for having the largest internet usage. One thing is for certain, these two countries have the most internet users than any other countries.

The U.S Population is believed to be about 100,000,000 and for this articles purpose we will first focus on U.S. internet usage only, since most U.S. web sites receive most of its traffic from the U.S.

There are many theories on which day gets the most internet usage. Why is it so important on which day it gets more traffic.? First,l most businesses or blogs like to drive traffic to their web sites in the hopes of getting more business. Retailers believe that the more eyes that are on their site, the more potential buyers there are. And in a sense they are right.

Here’s why, first internet marketing usually has a 2-5 % conversion rate of people who go to their site and actually buy something. So if 100 people visit their site, the odds are that 2 – 5 people will buy something from them. These numbers seem to be somewhat consistent over the years. So, the more traffic a retailer gets to their site the odds are, the more people will buy from them.

All internet businesses are looking to improve their traffic or find out when is the best time to promote some of their items online. Currently, it is theorized that weekends (Saturday and Sunday) tend to get less traffic for blogs or content.

Mondays are usually not the best days either, because people are in a hurry on Mondays trying to catch up with what they didn’t get to do on the weekend. Additionally, work seems to be busier on Mondays than most other days.

Many online marketers believe Tuesday’s, Wednesdays and Thursdays are definitely the best days to add new content to your site. One of the reasons why, is because people tend to be more settled down these three days of the week. And also, many people actually visit the internet while they’re at work these days.

So, if you have a site where you update content once or twice a week first you might be better off to wait until Tuesday – Thursday in order to get more visitors to that specific article or information that you posted.

Best Time to Post on Internet

Besides the day of the week, Time is also a big component when first deciding on when to post  content or information online. Expect low traffic really early in the morning before 8:00 a.m, at lunch time and very late in the evening after 9:30 p.m. The best times to try to post new content for your site is from Tuesday – Thursday and probably around 9:30 a.m to 11:45 a.m. or 1:15 to 9:00 p.m are also good times to post.

Also, please note there are different sites online like Facebook, YouTube, News, Retailers, Online Dating etc.

All of these different sites attract a different audience which also attract different traffic at different times. However, from my experience and other online marketers, feel that overall, Tuesday through Thursday are the best days for online traffic or for posting content.

Finally, I suggest that all users first experiment for a month or two and see if your traffic increases or not by sticking to certain days and times during the week. If you notice you have great traffic certain days and times for your site for several months stick with that schedule. Come back every couple weeks and see if that is still working for your site. If not, keep tweaking until you find the best days and times for your site.
